Competitions & Meets
Competition is an important part of GSC's competitive programme, giving swimmers the opportunity to race, measure their progress and represent the Club.
From Club competitions in Guernsey to off-island meets and higher-level events, swimmers are supported to compete at a level appropriate to their development.
RACING WITH GSC
From first races to bigger stages
Our competitive pathway is designed to support swimmers as they develop. Progression through the squads is based on swimming ability, skills, training and competition readiness — rather than age alone.
CLUB & LOCAL
GSC galas and competitions provide regular opportunities to race in a familiar environment, build experience and record official times.
OFF-ISLAND
As swimmers progress, opportunities include travelling with GSC to compete at meets in Jersey and the UK.
HIGHER-LEVEL COMPETITION
Swimmers who achieve the relevant qualification standards can progress to County, Regional and National-level competition.
REPRESENTING GUERNSEY
Beyond Club competition
GSC swimmers may also have opportunities to represent Guernsey when they achieve the relevant selection standards.
Representative swimming sits alongside the GSC squad pathway and is not determined by which Club squad a swimmer trains in. Opportunities can include events such as the Inter-Insular, Island Games, Youth Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Games.
